Close Protection Top up
As of 1st of October 2022 it has been made a requirement for Close Protection officers wishing to renew their licence to complete a top up course.
This refresher course is run over 5 days and consists of the following units:
- Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
- Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry
There are 4 multiple choice exams and 2 practical assessments:
MCQ 1) Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry (10 questions, 20 minutes)
MCQ 2) Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (29 questions, 45 minutes)
MCQ 3) Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (30 questions, 45 minutes) (and 1x Practical Assessment)
MCQ 4) Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry (30 questions, 45 minutes) (and 1x Practical Assessment).
